Simran Singh was born on Thursday, 10 August 2000 (age 20 years; as of 2020) in Patiala, Punjab. His zodiac sign is Leo. Simran started playing cricket when he was in school. He used to practice with his cousin brother and cricketer, Anmolpreet Singh at a club in Patiala. They would often bunk their classes to practice. Simran has played in several domestic leagues for the Punjab team.

Career
Simran started playing cricket when he was in school and his family was unsure of his decision of choosing cricket as a profession. However, Simran pursued his dream of becoming a cricketer as he had grown up watching Virender Sehwag and Adam Gilchrist play the game. Simran Singh made his List A debut in the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup on 7 December 2018. Simran played for India Emerging Team and the match was against Afghanistan Emerging Team. The same month he was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 4.8 crores for the 2019 Indian Premier League. He made his Twenty20 debut in the 2018-2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Punjab in February 2019.

- Simran plays as a batsman and he is the wicket-keeper for the team. He was inspired by Adam Gilchrist and he decided to play as a wicket-keeper.
- Simran grabbed attention from the player selection committee of the IPL when he scored 298 runs in 301 balls while playing for Punjab in a U-23 district match. Prabhsimran also helped the India U-19 team to win the 2019 U-19 Asia Cup.
