Kathrine Leigh Webb, born as Katherine Lee Ritchie is an Australian actress, radio presenter, and children’s author. She is best known for her long-running role as Sally Fletcher on television soap opera Home and Away. She won 2 Gold Logie awards for this character.
Katherine played Sally for 20 years appearing from the pilot episode until 2008. Before her retirement, she shared with her co-stars the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous roll in an Australian drama series. After taking a break for five years, she returned on Home and Away in 2013 for a short reprise of her role on the 25th anniversary of the series.
Apart from the 20 years on Home and Away, she has also hosted various television events, appeared in several commercials, a miniseries, and an Australian film. She has also been known to be involved with the Campbeltown Music Society. Nowadays, she is best known to be a part of the Kate, Tim, and Marty radio team.
The show has won three major ACRA awards and in 2015 they also won Best Network Program at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards and Best On-Air Team in both 2016 and 17. Katherine Ritchie was born on 14th August 1978 in Goulburn, NSW, Australia to Heather and Steve Ritchie. She has three younger siblings: Rebecca, Stewart, and Suzan.
She attended Campbelltown North Public School and Hurlstone Agricultural High School to complete her education.Ritchie has been working with home and away ever since she was eight years old. In 1986 she also played the child lead in mini-series Cyclone Tracy. She also played Nicole in the ABC film Stepfather of the Bride.
She placed fourth in celebrity singing competition It Takes Two with Troy Cassar-Daley in 2006. She went on and co-hosted the second season of the show with Grant Denyer in 2007. That same year she also replaced Matthew Newton on a drive show on Nova radio but was soon replaced by Cal Wilson.
She announced that she would be leaving Home and Away in the same year. Ritchie took up radio after ending her acting career with Home and Away. It began with the Nova 96.9 breakfast show with Merrick and Rosso in January 2008. She was interviewed on Network 10 and also appeared on The Merrick & Rosso Show.
She went back to acting in 2009 with the second series of Underbelly. However, throughout 2009 she continued working on the Merrick & Rosso and Kate Ritchie Show. The same year she became the face of Vaseline and also hosted the 2009 ARIA Awards.
On November 10, 2009, she announced that she would leave radio to get back to acting. She was soon cast with the lead role in the police drama Cops L.A.C. However, the series did not do well and was canceled after the season finale.
In 2013 she announced that she would be hosting the Nova FM Drive show with Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold in 2014. In 2016 str released a children’s book, “I Just Couldn’t Wait To Meet You” and soon after released her second book “It’s Not Scribble to Me”Ritchie started dating St George Illawarra Dragons player Stuart Webb in 2018.
They got engaged in September 2009 and got married in September 2008.On 17 August 2014, she gave birth to her daughter, Mae Webb. On November 7, 2019, Stuart agreed to an AVO which was applied by a police constable on behalf of Ritchie following a domestic incident on 17 October
