• Soyeb Aftab is the topper of NEET UG 2020 in which he secured 720 marks out of 720.

• He was born and brought up in a middle-class family in Rourkela, Odisha. ^[2]The Times of India 

• He secured 96.8% and 95.8% marks in the 10th standard and the 12th standard examinations, respectively.

• After high school, he shifted to Kota in Rajasthan to attend coaching classes for the NEET examination.

• His father, Sheikh Mohammad Abbas, had a tea business; however, after the loss in the business, he started a construction business. In an interview, while talking about his parents, Soyeb said,
  

  Because of the new work, my father had managed to support my education and coaching in Kota. My mother stayed with me since April 2018. I completed my Class XII in Kota along with preparation for NEET.”

• In 2020, he secured AIR 1 in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in which he secured full marks, i.e., 720/720, and with this, he became the first NEET aspirant from Odisha to secure AIR 1 in the examination. 

• He received his National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) coaching from Allen Career Institute in Kota.

• In 2020, he also gave the JEE Mains examination; just to check his preparation in Physics and Chemistry.
  

  I scored 99.97 percentile in physics and 99.93 percentile in chemistry and 15 percentile in mathematics as it was not my subject. I appeared for JEE Mains just to check my preparations for NEET.”

• According to Soyeb, his favourite subject is physics.

• In an interview, he desired to become a heart specialist, he said,
  

  I am interested to do MBBS in AIIMS Delhi. I will focus on research in medical sector along with practice. I am so happy after getting perfect score and becoming the all India topper.”

• While talking about the success of Soyeb in the NEET examination, his mother said,
  

  My husband is not a big businessman and worked hard to fund education of our son in Kota. He was staying alone in Rourkela and we were in Kota. I never allowed any negativity to touch my son. I always motivated him to do well and go ahead in future. I came to Kota to stay with him so that he will feel secure and can concentrate in studies.”
