The Journey of Becoming Bike-Ambulance-Dada
In 1995, a sad incident changed his life as his mother was very ill and required immediate medical treatment, but he could not find any ambulance to take his mother to the hospital. At last, his mother passed away due to a cardiac arrest, and after this incident, he decided to do something to help people in case of a medical emergency. The idea of motorcycle ambulance came into his mind when one of his colleagues collapsed, and Karimul tied his colleagues to his back and rushed to a nearby hospital on a motorcycle in 1998. After this incident, he decided to start his motorcycle ambulance and bought a motorcycle of his own on a loan. Since 1998, he has been providing motorcycle ambulance services in more than 20 villages in nearby villages and has helped more than 5500 people in case of medical emergencies. Apart from ambulance services, he provides basic first aid training to the local people with the help of doctors.

- He has also organised various social awareness camps and helps needy people. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he donated food and clothes to the poor people.
- In an interview, he talked about his ultimate dream, he said,
I want an ambulance fitted with advanced healthcare facilities. This will help people who live in remote areas in a big way.”
- He has received many awards including Ananya Samaan from Zee Group’s 24 ghanta news channel in 2012.
- In 2017, he received the Padma Shri award for his work supporting the villagers in and around Dhalabari.
- In 2018, Bajaj Auto Limited upgraded his motorcycle fitted with waterproof stretcher and ports for an oxygen cylinder.

- The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi taught him how to click a selfie in 2018 at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the eve of Republic Day.
- A book on his biography ‘Bike-Ambulance Dada’ written by Bswajit Jha was published in 2019. Reportedly, a Hindi film is set to release on his real life story.
