Karan Ajay Mehra [1]Times of India is an Indian television actor and fashion designer. He is best known for playing the role of ‘Naitik Singhania’ in Star Plus’ TV serial “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” (2009-2016).

In 2021, there were rumours about troubles in Karan and Nisha’s marriage. Initially, the duo denied the same. However, later, Nisha filed a complaint against Karan for hitting her and also accused him of having an extra-marital affair. As of 2021, the duo is on the verge of a divorce. After Nisha’s allegations, Karan was rumoured to be in a relationship with his Mawaan Thandiyan Chawan co-star Himanshi Parashar.

Fashion Designing
Karan started his career as a fashion designer. He worked as a designer for four years in Delhi. Thereafter, he moved to Mumbai to study acting. While in Mumbai, Karan designed an outfit for the Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.
Films & Television
Mehra stepped into the world of entertainment as an assistant director. He assisted the film directors Rajkumar Hirani and Ram Gopal Varma in four films. Next, he made his film debut with the 2008 Bollywood film “Love Story 2050.”

Subsequently, Karan worked as a model for a while. He also appeared in a few TV advertisements. In 2009, he made his television debut with the TV serial “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” in which he played the role of ‘Naitik Singhania.’ Karan gained immense popularity for his performance in the show and became a household name. He worked in the show until 2016 and then left it owing to health issues.

In 2021, Karan made his debut in Punjabi TV with the TV serial “Mawaan Thandiyan Chawan.” He played the role of a cop in the serial.

Controversy
In June 2021, Karan was arrested by the Goregaon police for allegedly pushing his wife, Nisha, against the wall. Nisha suffered a head injury during the incident and filed a complaint in the Goregaon police station. He was later released on bail.
