Hrishita is the daughter of a Gujrati businessman, Gunwant Patel, and is said to be Jay’s childhood friend. Jay and Hrishita are parents to two daughters: Rudri (born in 2017) and another one born in May 2020.
Career
Business
After completing his formal education, Jay Shah joined his family business of PVC pipelines. Then, in 2004, Jay Shah started his own trading business company under the name ‘Temple Enterprises Pvt Ltd.’ Jay Shah and Jitendra Shah, an old family friend, were the two directors of the firm. The company shut its operations in October 2016. Jay Shah holds a 60 per cent stake in Kusum Finserve, a stock trading and marketing consultancy company.
Cricket Administration
Jay was appointed as an executive member of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) in 2009 and was elevated to the position of joint secretary of GCA in 2013. The biggest project that he oversaw during his tenure as the GCA Joint Secretory was the construction of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemdabad.
In 2015, junior Shah made a debut in BCCI administration as a member of the finance and marketing committees of the board. In September 2019, he abdicated from the position of GCA joint secretary and was elected as the secretary of BCCI in the next month.

In January 2021, Jay Shah was appointed as the president of the Asian Cricket Council.

- Jay Shah took professional cricket training for a brief period under Jayendra Sehgal at Loyola Hall. Jayendra described Jay Shah as a decent batsman.
