After playing for his college team, Chris began playing professional cricket for the domestic teams, New South Wales and the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League from 2014 onwards. Chris made his debut for the Sydney Thunder in the final round of Big Bash League Season 4. Apart from the domestic teams of Australia, Green has also played for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League and he played for the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League. During the 2020 IPL auction, Chris Green was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs. 20 lakhs.
