Akanksha Sharma is a famous Indian voice artist, emcee, comedian, and a YouTuber. She came into limelight after she was chosen as the official Hindi of the popular Japanese cartoon Shin-chan.

Career
Winning the RJ Hunt
In 2013, Radio Mirchi was looking for a new RJ for their Sunday morning shows; so, they organized a competition looking for their new radio jockey. Akanksha, who was still pursuing her Bachelor degree, got to know about this competition from a senior who was also participating in it. Akanksha, along with 20000 other participants, took part in the contest, and she ended up winning it.
Akanksha worked at the Radio Mirchi for one year before she quit it to complete her degree. While working at Radio Mirchi, she was placed under the tutelage of the reputed RJ Naved.
The Voice of Shin-chan
In an interview, while talking about her journey of becoming a voice artist, she said,
So, along with college, I did some Radio commercials which also helped in my training for being a voiceover artist – mimicking kid’s voice for Horlicks advertisements and other different voices for various other things on the radio. From there, I got the idea of being a voice-over artist.”
After completing her graduation, Akanksha started working as a freelance voiceover artist. Soon, she was offered to play the Hindi voice of the fictional character named Shin-chan Nohara in the superhit Japanese animated series Crayon Shin-chan. According to her, she was unaware of the cartoon until she started preparing for its voice. Akanksha is the fourth artist to give the Hindi voice of Shin-chan since it first aired in 2006 in India.

Apart from Shin-chan, she has given her voice for her other well-known animated characters like Bo-chan (Shin-chan’s friend), Nobita (from the anime series Doraemon), and Doraemon’s sister, Dorami.
Akanksha is known to have worked for the professional wrestling show WWE where she dubs the voice of female wrestlers in Hindi.
Akanksha can perform more than 120 different cartoon voices.
As a YouTuber
Akanksha started her YouTube channel in 2016, and soon, she became a popular face in Indian YouTube community. Her subscriber count on YouTube is close 550K as of 2020. She has multiple videos with millions of views. Her most viewed video is titled “Cartoon Voice Mimicry Challenge by Akanksha Sharma,” which has more than 15 million views.
